Concierge medicine is also known as retainer medicine. The patient will have to pay an annual fee, which is also known as a retainer. In exchange for the retainer, the patient will be able to spend more time with the doctor. Concierge medicine has been around since 1996.

The concept was first developed by a physician in Seattle. He asked his patients to pay a fee so that they can get more time with him. This allowed him to give his patients services that were not covered by the insurance companies.

The average doctor only spends about 10 to 15 minutes with each patient. However, a concierge doctor may spend over 30 minutes with one patient. This allows patients and doctors to form better relationships. It also allows patients to get better care. Many patients complain that their appointments are too rushed. Many patients have to wait months to see a doctor. However, it is much easier for patients to get an appointment with an internist. Healing time is highly variable, but most patients’ experience moderate swelling and some bruising that can persist up to 2 weeks. Sutures are usually removed within the first week after surgery. It is best to avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for 2-3 weeks after surgery to minimize the chances of bleeding. It often takes several months for swelling to fully resolve, and 6 months or longer for the incision scars do fade.
